Acid Cleaning Solution Recipe
- Dissolve 400g of potassium dichromate in in 4L distilled water.
- Slowly add 400ml of sulfuric acid.
- To use, add to glassware for several minutes and rinse with copious amounts of water.
- Note: Keeps until solution turns dark brown
- Caution: Postasium dichromate is toxic by inhalation and ingestion. Sulfuric acid is caustic. Use personal protective equipement, prepare under hood in a well ventilated area. Consult with appropriate safety officials at your institution for proper procedures and disposal.
