Barfoed's
Solution Recipe
Barfoed's Solution is used for detecting the presence
of monosaccharides in a solution. A positive reaction
is the formation of red to reddish brown color in the
solution. It is primarily used in Botany.

Dissolve 4.5g of cupric acetate
in 100ml distilled water
- Add 120ul of 50% acetic acid
- Filter with 0.2um filter
