Ehrlich's Solution Recipe

Ehrlich's solution is used in an indol test.

1. Dissolve 1g of Para-dimethylamino benzaldehyde in 95ml of 95% ethanol
2. Add 20 ml of concentrated HCl to the solution from step 1
3. Mix well

Caution: Always add concentrated acid into the solution and not the solution into concentrated acid!
