MS-Medium Recipe

  1. Dissolve the following in 900 ml of distilled water:
    • KCl 0.10 g
    • K2HPO4 0.10 g
    • MgSO4 x 7 H2O 0.25 g
    • (NH4)2SO4 2.0 g
  2. q.s. to 1L with distilled water.
  3. Adjust pH to 3.5 with 1N sulphuric acid
  4. Autoclave to sterilize.
  5. Add 5 g/L of sterile powdered sulphur just prior to use.
